History of The Bathinda Disctrict Cricket Association

The Bathinda District Cricket Association (B.D.C.A.) is the governing body for the development and organization of the game of cricket in the District of Bathinda. The B.D.C.A. has a long history. The B.D.C.A. functions from present day at COPS Club, Bathinda. In the year 1982, The Bathinda District Cricket Association was formed, with the main motto to improve Cricket at all levels and to increase the love for the game.



After winning the Cricket World Cup in 1983 by the team India, the cricket was getting popular in the district which was a booster for B.D.C.A. This increased the popularity of the cricket in mostly all parts of India, along with the district Bathinda. Few of the Influential people the district bathinda joined The Bathinda District Cricket Association including Prof. Chawla, Sh. O.D.Sharma, Sh. Jeet Mal, Sh. Ajit Chabbra, Sh. Sudershan Goyal and many more. Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) funded the members of the B.D.C.A. for the improvement of cricket and all the different aspect of criket for the district of Bathinda.



Bathinda District Cricket Association, after being registered as a SOCIETY on 15th September 2006. the office bearers were formed President Sh. Jeet Mal, General Secretary Sh. O.D.Sharma, Joint Secretary Sh. Arun Wadhawan, Chairman Sh. Sudershan Goyal. After seeing the hardwork of the office bearers, All the members of B.D.C.A. voted Sh. Jeet Mal as Lifetime Preisent and Sh. O.D.Sharma as Lifetime General Secretary for B.D.C.A.



After the demise of Sh. O.D.Sharma, Sh. Arun Wadhawan was elected as General Secretary and after the demise of Sh. Jeet Mal, Sh. Sudershan Goyal was elected as the President of B.D.C.A. In the year of 2021, women cricket for the district of bathinda was started. many girls/ women were added to the association as members and as players to the society.
